Nowicki moves to 8-0 as Lehigh tops Eckerd

St. Petersburg, FL – The Lehigh women’s tennis squad earned its fifth victory of the season on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Eckerd College 5-4. The win improves the Mountain Hawks to 5-3 overall. Lehigh won only one doubles match. At first doubles the duo of Kristen Nowicki and Kristen Mulstay upended Eckerd’s Maga Correra and Kristen Lofgren 8-1. At second doubles Jamie Fass and Andrea Scott fell 8-1, while Maria Anorga and Alina Kors fell 8-6 at third doubles. On the singles side, Lehigh was victorious in four of six matches. At first singles, Nowicki moved to 8-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sanchez. Also earning singles victories for the Mountain Hawks was Jamie Fass at second singles, Andrea Scott at fourth singles, and Kristen Mulstay at fifth singles. Scott was victorious 6-3, 6-4, while Mulstay got the nod 6-2, 6-1. Lehigh will return to action on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. vs. the University of Tampa.
