Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh’s Kristen Nowicki was honored Tuesday by the Patriot League as its first ever female tennis player of the month. The honor is the first for Nowicki. Nowicki, a transfer from Penn State, has shined in her role as the top seeded player on the squad. Thus far she is 7-0 in singles play, earning Lehigh’s lone win in a 6-1 loss to West Virginia and defeating the top players from Seton Hall, Rutgers, Delaware, Drexel, Towson, and Howard. Nowicki also has posted a top doubles mark, going 4-3 over the first month. "I am very proud of Kristen and what she has done this season," said head coach Dave Shook. "She has worked hard and has been everything we expected her to be." Nowicki and her Mountain Hawks’ teammates return to action on March 12 in St. Petersburg, Florida vs. Eckerd College.
