Tennis squad to compete at ECAC Tournament

Bethlehem, PA - The Lehigh women’s tennis team has been selected to participate in this years' ECAC Tennis Championships. The even will be held on October 12th and 13th in Flushing Meadows, New York at the National Tennis Center. The NTC is the same venue that annually hosts the U.S. Open tennis tournament. The ECAC Championships are held each fall with the top 16 teams on the east coast receiving invitations. The invitations are based on the previous seasons results. Lehigh finished 2002 with a 12-7 overall record, 2-2 in Patriot League play. "I am glad to be invited," said head coach Dave Shook. "We had a good season last year and it’s good to see it pay off," added Shook. "We will face some tough competition but it will be a good challenge for the team."
