Lehigh wins nail biter over Delaware

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh picked up its second consecutive win of the season beating Delaware 4-3 at the Lewis Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. Lehigh split the singles matches winning first, second, and third singles and swept the doubles matches to pick up the win. Lehigh is 7-5 overall on the season. Senior Ryan Cann continued his success at number one beating Sanje Khindri in three sets after dropping the first 4-6. He battle back in the last to win 6-2 and 7-5 respectively. Freshman Ty Esler and senior Matt Dankner each won their matches in straight sets at two and three. Sweeping the doubles matches was not easy for the Mountain Hawks but they managed to pull it off. Cann and Dankner squeaked by Khindri and John Tulley 9-8, and Ditman and Trey Fuller defeated Robert Worth and David Mober 8-5 at number three. The freshmen duo of Esler and Andrew Shapiro sealed the deal with an 8-4 win at number two. Lehigh returns to action on Sunday morning when it hosts Stony Brook at the Lewis Tennis Center beginning at 10:30. Singles
