Lehigh men win Lehigh Valley Collegiate XII

Bethlehem, PA – Sophomore Patrick McCahill shot an even par 72 to capture top honors as the Mountain Hawks earned a first place finish at the Lehigh Valley Collegiate XII on Wednesday. The tournament, hosted by Lehigh University, was held on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
While McCahill’s 72 won the event, two Mountain Hawks followed close behind. Senior Rob McMenimon (38-37) and sophomore John Jaravata (35-40), along with Lafayette’s Jeremiah O’Neill (37-38) all shot a 75 to finish in a three-way tie for second place. Lehigh’s Nam Park and Lafayette’s Garett Copp each shot a four-over-par 76 to finish tied for fifth place overall.
"I’m very pleased with the way we played today," said Lehigh head coach Kelly Gutshall following the team’s win. "We lose three seniors [McMenimon, Ronnie Kashlak, and Tim Llewellyn] after this year, so it’s important that our younger guys be ready to step in there."
Lehigh returns to action on Saturday, April 26, as the Mountain Hawks play host to the Patriot League Championships. The two-day tournament will also take place on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley.
