Lehigh Athletics and AmericanEagle.com, an award-winning web site development company based in Park Ridge, Illinois, have teamed up to create the second generation of the popular Lehighsports.com web site. The pair rang in the new year by unveiling the site on Tuesday, January 3.
“We’re excited to re-launch Lehighsports.com and think we’ve created a distinctive web site with many enhancements that our fans will love,” says Jeff Tourial, sports media relations director. “American Eagle works with many of the top professional sports teams who demand the latest look and functionality. We believe this site reflects our desire to stay on top of the latest trends, and to offer a site that’s classy, informative and what our visitors want.”
The new Lehighsports.com features many of the bells and whistles that characterize modern sites and make them more engaging to savvy web visitors. Lehighsports.com is distinguishable by a look and feel that is somewhat unconventional in a cookie cutter college sports world. Among the site enhancements are the new graphics treatment with a right rail photo and bold homepage photos.
Also available are downloads for hand-held PDA’s, RSS (real simple syndication) for mass news distribution, enhanced photo galleries and even more live audio and video streams, such as the live feed of today’s press conference to announce the new head football coach. New customized e-newsletters and a page for alumni will encourage interaction between Lehigh and its active alumni body. Future additions include an upgrade of the prospective student-athlete site, increased fan interactivity and a new on-line store.
Visitors will continue to enjoy on-line purchasing of tickets and merchandise; on-line registration and payment for Lehigh Summer Camps; and on-line giving to the Lehigh Athletics Partnership.
And as always, rich content remains a priority on Lehighsports.com, where game stories are updated within 30 minutes of the completion of every game and news stories and features are updated daily. A powerful new search tool makes it easy to find information quickly.
