The Football Network cancels I-AA All-Star Game

Baton Rouge, LA – The Football Network has announced that the 2003 Division I-AA All-Star Classic has been cancelled. The event – scheduled to take place on December 30 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. – was slated to include three Mountain Hawks. The network released the following statement: “The TFN vision has been to make this game into a major showcase for those student-athletes. However, due to certain fiscal realities, TFN has decided that it can not produce the game consistent with that vision and has chosen to cancel the 2003 All Star Classic.” The three seniors leave Lehigh with a career record of 39-9 over their four years, a winning percentage of .813. Senior captains Mike Gregorek, Tom McGeoy, and Jermaine Pugh were all selected to compete in the first annual event. The game was created by, and was to be produced by, The Football Network. The cable channel, scheduled to launch in August, has cancelled the game due to lack of funds.
