BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Rising junior Will Rackley was named to the 2009 Sports Network preseason All-America Third-Team on Thursday. This marks the third time a Mountain Hawk has earned preseason All-America honors this summer after senior captain Matt Cohen earned a pair of accolades, one by Consensus Draft Services (CDS) and another by Phil Steele, and junior Jarard Cribbs joined Cohen on the CDS All-America team. Rackley started all 11 games for Lehigh along the offensive line last season, and was named a First-Team All-Patriot League selection.
With his selection to the 2008 All-Patriot League First-Team, Rackley made it five consecutive seasons that Lehigh has placed an offensive lineman on the All-League First Team. Rackley started all 11 games for the Mountain Hawks last season, helping lead Lehigh to an average of 25.6 points and 216.7 pass yards per game. A native of Georgia, Rackley has started nearly every game of his career along the O-line for the Mountain Hawks.
Lehigh opens its 2009 season on Saturday, September 5 versus the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils at Goodman Stadium. Kick-off is set for 12:30.
