Carmola, Ingalls and Ferris honored by league

Carmola played one of her best all-around games of the season on Saturday as the New York native found the back of the net four times and also handed out a pair of assists. Carmola scored two of her goals in the second half during a decisive 9-0 run that put the Brown and White ahead 13-9 after trailing 9-4 at intermission.
On the season, Carmola has scored 28 goals and dished out 15 assists, while adding 20 ground balls, 15 draw controls and two caused turnovers. Carmola, who has found the back of the net three of more times on six separate occasions in 2008, has scored a point in 29 consecutive games, which ranks in the top-15 nationally.
For the second time in her career, Ingalls has been honored as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week. The sophomore led Lehigh with a season high five ground balls and a career-best five draw controls in Saturday’s win. Ingalls also caused one turnover as she helped to anchor a Lehigh “D” that held the league’s leading offense to just three second half goals.
Ingalls, who has started every game for Lehigh, has scooped up 29 ground balls, won 17 draw controls and caused a team-leading 13 turnovers this season. She has caused at least one turnover in seven of the Mountain Hawks 12 games.
Ferris earns her third career Goal Keeper of the Week honor after stopping nine shots in 60 minutes of work this past weekend. Ferris held the Patriot League’s top scoring offense to just three goals in the final 30 minutes as she faced 26 shots for the game and earned her seventh win of the season.
Ferris has totaled ten or more saves in seven games in 2008, posting a save percentage of .498 for the season. The
Also on Monday, freshman Lauren Dykstra received an honorable mention accolade from the league. Dykstra netted three goals in a span of 4:43 to ignite Lehigh’s comeback versus the Midshipmen, and also added an assist. The freshman standout recorded two ground balls and a pair of draw controls as well. For the season, Dykstra has found the back of the net 47 times, which is tied with teammate Sara MacIntyre for the most ever by a freshman in school history.
Lehigh returns to action on Tuesday evening when the Mountain Hawks play host to the Marist Red Foxes at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The opening draw control is set for 7:00 and all of the action will be shown live on Lehighsports.com.
