Roth sets record at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh opened its first day of competition at the Penn Relays on Thursday, and Emily Roth set a new record in the pole vault, clearing 3.49 meters.  Her jump placed her 20th overall in the field.  Kathryn McLaughlin had the highest finish on the day for the Mountain Hawks, clearing 1.61 meters in the high jump, to finish 12th overall.

 

Also on the day, the women’s 4x400 relay team placed fifth in its heat, with a school record time of 3:54.44.  While the women’s 4x100 relay team placed ninth in its heat, with a time of 49.39.

 

The Mountain Hawks return to action tomorrow when they resume competition at the Penn Relays from Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
