Lehigh competes at the Larry Ellis Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – Lehigh competed in its first and only day of competition at the Larry Ellis Invitational, on the campus of Princeton on Friday.  Sarah Serwo came in with the top finish on the day for the Mountain Hawks, finishing the 800 meter run with a time of 2:11.57, good for sixth place overall.

 

Jennifer Therkorn also had a strong showing in the 800 meter run, with a time of 2:15.11.  In the men’s 800 meter run, Kyle Manning came in 15th place with a time of 1:52.77.  Shannon Alejandro came in 17th in the 1,500 meter run, with a time of 4:33.87.  Nicole Page pulled down a 16th place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 11:58.34. 

 

Also on Friday, the Mountain Hawks participated in the first two events of the Greyhound Invitational at Moravian.  In the women’s hammer throw, Emily Settle came in first place with a throw of 47.19 meters.  Her throw was less than a half a meter off the all-time meet record.  In the men’s hammer throw, Mark Mattei came in third place, throwing 49.15 meters.

 

The teams return to action tomorrow when they complete the rest of the events at the Greyhound Invitational.
