Mountain Hawks finish up at championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lehigh concluded competition at the 2006 Patriot League Indoor Championships on Sunday with the Mountain Hawk men finishing in fourth, while the women placed sixth.  Army won the men’s championship with 188 points, while Navy was second with 141 points.  American (73), the Mountain Hawks (67), Lafayette (58), Bucknell (57), Colgate (26) and Holy Cross (10).  On the women’s side, Bucknell won the overall title with 190 points, with Army (122), Navy (117), Lafayette (83), American (40), the Mountain Hawks (32), Colgate (22) and Holy Cross (14) rounding out the scoring. 

 

In the men’s competition, Cody Smart took fourth in the high jump, clearing 6’7”, while in the 55-meter hurdles, Scott Robinson and Brian Voorhis placed fifth and sixth, respectively.  David Falk placed third in the 200 with a time of 22.60, good for six team points, and Robinson added a fifth place finish in the 400-meters, finishing in a time of 51.11.  Rob Hampson finished second in the 3000-meters, good for eight team points, with teammate Victor Vientos, finishing fifth in that race. 

 

On the women’s side, K.T. Hessler took third in the high jump, clearing 5’’3”, while Karen Welby and Jen Terkorn posted sixth place finishes in the 1000-meters and 800 respectively.
