Following a 38-20 league win over Holy Cross in its season opener on Saturday, Lehigh returns to Goodman Stadium to host defending league champion Fordham on September 13.
In last week’s win over Holy Cross, Lehigh quarterback Chad Schwenk threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns, finding wide receiver Dave Crockett and tight end Adam Bergen nine times each. Kicker Matt Douglas connected on all three field goal attempts, and forced five touchbacks on kickoffs.
Meanwhile Fordham comes to Bethlehem sporting a perfect 2-0 record and a No. 9 national ranking after a convincing 63-28 win over Rhode Island on the road. The Rams are led by Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week Kevin Eakin, who threw a school record six touchdown passes in the win over Rhode Island. Kirwin Watson and Javarus Dudley are also offensive threats that must be contained.
Saturday’s kickoff is scheduled for just after 1:00, and prior to the game, fans can take part in the second annual Lehigh Valley Punt, Pass, & Kick competition outside Goodman Stadium beginning at 11am. For ticket information, call (610) 7LU-GAME.
