In 2015-16: Enjoyed best season at Lehigh, health-wise and competitively… won EIWA heavyweight title… earned All-America honors with eighth place finish at NCAA Championships… won 10 of first 11 bouts… went 2-2 against Minnesota’s Michael Kroells, including early-season win that put him on the map… finished with five falls and 12 bonus wins… had 37 second fall in first round of Southern Scuffle and 36 second pin in EIWA quarterfinals… reached NCAA quarterfinals, becoming furthest Lehigh advancer in championship bracket… named Outstanding Athlete at Lewis Wrestling Dinner… named to NWCA All-Academic Team.
In 2014-15: Did not compete due to injury.
In 2013-14: Battled through injuries to claim starting spot at heavyweight… finished third at EIWA Championships to qualify for first NCAA Tournament… went 4-1 to finish second at season-opening Clarion Knight Point Open… named EIWA Wrestler of the Week after 7-4 decision over seventh-ranked JT Felix of Boise State in late January… six of ten victories produced bonus points.
In 2012-13: Began season at 197 before taking over starting spot at heavyweight in late January… placed in both open tournaments he competed in at 197… made dual debut at heavyweight, defeating Keldrick Hall of Oklahoma 3-2 to clinch upset win over Sooners… placed seventh at EIWA Championships… pinned Harvard’s David Ng in just 37 seconds in seventh place match… posted six wins by fall.
In 2011-12: Deferred his eligibility in attempt to qualify for U.S. Olympic Team in judo.
In 2010-11: Deferred eligibility… went 20-7 with six falls competing unattached in open competition… placed in four open tournaments highlighted by third place finish at Edinboro Open in February… placed fourth at Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic and sixth at both Binghamton and National Collegiate Opens.
In secondary school: State champion at 189 as a senior, going 41-0… was named Outstanding Wrestler at the state tournament… placed sixth as a junior… accomplished in judo where he was ranked No.1 nationally in the under-18 division at 178 lbs… academic All-State performer.
Personal: Son of Buck and Amy… brother Axel attends Lehigh… enjoys skiing.
