Sam O’Neill joins the Lehigh men’s tennis program as a graduate assistant coach. O’Neill heads to Bethlehem after a four-year career as a student-athlete at Butler University. O’Neill was a four-year starter for the Bulldogs, amassing 94 total victories throughout his career. He earned his team’s MVP Award following his senior season in which he played primarily at the top flight of doubles and top three flights of singles. He led his team with 11 dual match singles wins, while going 13-5 in doubles dual matches.
O’Neill, a double major in finance and management information systems, earned his bachelor’s degree in 2015 with a strong 3.71 GPA. He was a two-time Academic All-Big East member during his time at Butler. In addition to his strong collegiate career, O’Neill has spent the last seven months coaching and playing in several professional tournaments across the country.
