Ben Thaw
Ben Thaw enters his second season on the Lehigh coaching staff where he works with the Mountain Hawks' linebackers.

The linebacking unit was a strength for the Mountain Hawks' defense in 2023, with Mike DeNucci earning All-Patriot League recognition for the second straight year and Tyler Ochojski ranking third on the team in tackles in his first season as a starter.

Prior to coming to Lehigh, Thaw spent three seasons at Wake Forest University, where he began as a recruiting intern in 2020 before moving up to a graduate assistant position. He worked the Demon Deacons’ defensive backs in 2021 and spent the 2022 season assisting with the linebackers.

In 2022, Thaw worked with a Wake Forest defense that forced 16 turnovers on the way to an eight-win campaign and the program’s 11th all-time bowl victory. The year prior, Thaw was on staff for an 11-win season that included an ACC Coastal Division title and a bowl win.

A Connecticut native, Thaw is a 2020 graduate of Wesleyan University, where he played defensive back and served as a team captain. As a senior, he made 40 tackles with five interceptions, nine pass breakups and two blocked kicks. He was first team All-New England at the Division II/III level, All-East region and a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.

Thaw graduated from Wesleyan with a degree in government and added a master’s in liberal arts studies from Wake Forest in 2022.
