I chose Lehigh because of the opportunity to continue playing baseball at a competitive level while receiving the best education possible.

Coach Leary is a very experienced coach who constantly brings a positive atmosphere to the team. He truly cares about his players on and off the field.
2018 (SENIOR SEASON)
Started all 49 games at shortstop…led the Patriot League in sacrifice flies (9) and assists (156)…led the team and posted a career-highs in RBI (36) and stolen bases (12)…hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Lehigh to a 3-1 victory over Yale (3/18)…compiled nine multi-hit games…compiled a career-high eight assists in a 4-1 victory over Davidson (3/2)…led the team for the second-straight season in assists and double plays (24)…finished his career tied for third all-time in program history with 192 games played…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2017 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Started all 50 games at shortstop and was a mainstay at the top of the batting order…finished second on the team in total hits (51), triples (2), runs scored (35) and stolen bases…established a new career-high with four runs scored as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the season-opener against Fairleigh Dickinson…tied his career-high with four hits in a 4-for-5 performance in a 10-2 win over Bucknell on April 1…compiled 14 multi-hit games and 11 multi-run games… led the team with 125 assists and 19 double plays…recorded five assists on four separate occasions…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2016 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Put together an impressive sophomore campaign, finishing the season with a .311 batting average, 28 RBI, 33 runs scored and four home runs…hit .319 in Patriot League play to help Lehigh lock up its third-straight trip to the Patriot League Tournament…tallied 19 multiple hit games and seven multiple RBI games…earned Patriot League Player of the Week honors on May 9 after hitting .500 (6-for-12) with three doubles, five RBI and two runs scored in wins over Saint Peter’s and Immaculata…hit a three-run home run in game two against Lafayette (4/23) to help Lehigh to a four-game sweep of the Leopards…went 4-for-6 with in game three against Holy Cross (4/11)…earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
2015 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Strong rookie season, seeing action in 42 games and making 29 starts at several different positions…finished the season with 13 RBI and 15 runs scored…started in left field and hit .300 (6-for-20) with four RBI and three runs scored in Lehigh’s six Patriot League Tournament games to help the Mountain Hawks win the league crown…earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week recognition after hitting .400 (4-for-10) in a weekend series at Holy Cross…tallied a season-best three RBI at Delaware…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE LEHIGH
James Bleming was named the team MVP after leading Pope John Paul II to its first-ever state championship and the most wins in school history. A three-year starting shortstop, Bleming was a three-time All PAC-10 selection as well as a two-time All-Southeastern PA First Team pick. The shortstop was the Southeastern Pennsylvania area hitting leader with a .566 batting average during his junior season and batted over .400 during his senior year. A three-sport athlete, Bleming also played quarterback on the football team and point guard on the basketball team and was named Pope John Paul II Best All Around Male Athlete. Bleming was a member of the National Honor Society, an Archdiocesen Scholar and graduated sixth in his class of 250 students.
