Why Lehigh?: “I chose Lehigh because of its competitive nature both academically and athletically. Coach Leary and the rest of the staff have great knowledge of the game and take pride in this program, and I found that to be especially appealing.”
As a sophomore…started seven games and appeared in one as a reliever, where he earned a save…second on the team with 35 strikeouts in 43.2 innings…3.09 ERA was second best on the team among pitchers who threw at least 40 innings…held opposing hitters to a team-best .197 batting average…earned his first career save against the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (2/27)…As a freshman…appeared in 13 games and started four…compiled a 1-3 record and 5.73 ERA…In high school … earned all-league honors all four years … finished senior year with 1.70 ERA, .440 batting average and 12 doubles … named team MVP during junior and senior seasons … named to the All-Intelligencer team three times, including his freshman year when he earned first-team pitcher recognitions recognized as one of “Greater Philly’s Top Baseball Players” by School Sports Magazine … selected as Player of the Year by the Bucks County Herald … received Quakertown Scholar Athlete Award … also lettered in basketball.
