Rodriguez was part of the first team to ever play and win a game at the new Miami Marlins stadium, and he scored the first ever run. He helped lead Christopher Columbus to a District and Regional championship, and a state runner-up finish in 2012. In his senior year, Rodriguez hit .325 with 24 RBIs, and had a .450 on base percentage. Rodriguez garnered All-Miami-Dade Honorable Mention honors. Off the field, he was a member of the National Honor Society and Mas Family Scholars, which is comprised of a group of the top 30 students from each grade.
