Ben Krentzman is entering his first season as Lehigh University’s Director of Baseball Operations. Krentzman arrives at Lehigh after spending the 2010 season at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. At Flagler, Krentzman worked with the outfielders and served as Flagler’s hitting coach. In Krentzman’s tenure, the Flagler Saints posted their highest team batting average in 10 years and broke the school record for total bases. Krentzman also helped guide the Saints to their first win over a No.1-ranked opponent since 1993 and their first postseason victory since 2003.
Prior to Flagler College, Krentzman spent three seasons as Bucknell University’s hitting coach. During Krentzman’s time as an assistant coach, Bucknell won the Patriot League title in 2008 and advanced to the Tallahassee Regional where they defeated Florida State University.
Krentzman has also served as the assistant coach of the Alexandria (Va.) Aces of the Cal Ripken, Jr. Collegiate Baseball League in their inaugural season, where he helped develop players from some of the top programs in Division I.
Prior to Bucknell, Krentzman served as an assistant coach for Clearwater (Fla.) High School and helped guide the team to a conference and district championship in 2005.
The Clearwater, Fla. native graduated from Bucknell in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He was a four-year letter winner for the Bison as an outfielder and helped lead the team to a pair of league championships in 2001 and 2003.
