2026Â marks Al Reda's first season on the Lehigh baseball coaching staff.
Reda arrives in Bethlehem following a successful tenure at the University of Scranton, where he spent three seasons as a hitting and pitching coach, defensive instructor, and recruiting coordinator. While with the Royals, he played a central role in player development, designing individualized hitting plans, coordinating pitching strategy, and integrating advanced technology such as Blast Motion, HitTrax, Trackman, and PitchCom into daily training. He also assisted with recruiting and player evaluation, helping strengthen the program’s foundation for future success.
In addition to his work at Scranton, Reda has built a wide-ranging coaching résumé across the collegiate and club levels. He previously served as a graduate assistant coach at Frostburg State, where he worked with catchers and hitters while overseeing player development and practice planning. Before that, he spent three seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Misericordia University, where he contributed to the program’s first-ever NCAA Division III World Series appearance in 2017. Reda has also coached at Baseball U Pennsylvania as a 16U head coach and began his career at Valley Central High School in New York as a varsity assistant.
Reda brings a wealth of professional playing experience to Lehigh, having spent seven years competing in both the United States and abroad. His career included stops with the York Revolution, New York Boulders, West Virginia Power, Texas Airhogs, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, and Somerset Patriots across multiple independent professional leagues. Internationally, he competed in Italy’s Serie A1 with Godo Baseball in 2019.
A native of Scranton, Pa., Reda was a four-year standout at Misericordia, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2016. He later completed his master’s degree in Sport Management from Frostburg State University in 2023. Fluent in Italian and Spanish, Reda is also recognized for his leadership, strong on-field communication, and deep knowledge of player development across all facets of the game.
