Mountain Hawks Throws Squad Delivers Top Performances at Frank Colden Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- Lehigh's men's and women's throws squads separated from the rest of the team and competed at the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Ursinus. The Mountain Hawks sent ten athletes across the two events for each gender.
Men's weight throw was the first event of the day, where Lehigh came away with two top five placements. First-year Chance Stuart was the top placing Mountain Hawk, throwing 16.32 meters to earn second overall. Fellow first-year Christian Saparata earned the other top spot, placing fourth with a 15.36-meter throw. Sophomore Josh Porter ranked 12th in the event, his best throw being 13.56 meters. Adam Klinge threw 11.46 meters, putting him 23rd.
Women's weight throw was spearheaded by sophomore Olivia Dubrow, who threw a season's best 13.14 meters to claim eighth place. Behind her in back-to-back positions were first-year Katie Keenan and sophomore Madeline Hussey. Keenan's 12.05-meter 13th place throw just edged out the 12.03-meter throw from Hussey, who landed in 14th. First-year Avery Hogan placed 20th, throwing 11.05 meters.
All three Lehigh throwers placed sequentially in the top eight of the women's shot put. Hussey led the way, launching the shot 11.56 meters to land in sixth. Sophomore Alyson Marmor came seventh throwing 11.40 meters, breaking her indoor personal best by one hundredths of a meter. Hogan threw 11.32 meters to place eighth.
Stuart and Saparata were Lehigh's top duo again in the men's shot put. This time Saparata was on top, placing fifth with a 13.79-meter throw. Stuart slotted in at seventh, tossing the shot put 13.16 meters. Shane Tomlinson was the next highest placing Mountain Hawk. The first-year heaved the shot 11.76 meters. Klinge was not far behind, throwing 11.46 meters to finish in 20th.
The Mountain Hawks compete next at the Indoor Classic, where Widener hosts in Philadelphia, Pa. on February 13-14.
