Klebe Completes Stellar Track Career at NCAA First Round

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lehigh senior Abby Klebe saw her illustrious career come to an end Thursday evening at the NCAA East First Round meet at the UK Track and Field Complex. Klebe ran 2:06.34 in her 800m heat, finishing 37th overall as she could not replicate last year's run to Saturday's quarterfinals.

Klebe concludes her career as a four-time Patriot League champion in the outdoor 800m, with three more individual titles in the indoor 800m. She holds school records in both the indoor (2:04.95) and outdoor (2:03.96) 800m events as well as the indoor 1000m and the indoor mile.

Thursday night, Klebe's time of 2:06.34 was good for sixth in her heat. The top two runners in each of six heats plus the next 12 fastest times overall advanced to Saturday's quarterfinal round.

Last year, Klebe set her school record in Thursday's preliminary round advancing to the quarterfinals, where she finished 23rd.

Klebe was recognized with the Karen A. Adams Graduating Female Athlete Award earlier this month at Lehigh's annual Student-Athlete Awards Convocation.
