Lehigh Reaches the Podium 18 Times At Philadelphia Metro

PHILADELPHIA - Lehigh headed to the Ott Center in Philadelphia for the fourth and final time for the indoor season. The Mountain Hawks were one of eight teams who participated at the Philadelphia Metro.
The field events got the meet underway, specifically the weight throw. Senior Grace Aggen was Lehigh's top thrower, with her weight landing at 13.68 meters. She improved her placement in the shot put, earning bronze by tossing the shot 13.81 meters.
The Mountain Hawks earned six more podium finishes across the four jumping events. Laura Reigle was Lehigh's lone champion in these events, clearing a season's best 4.06 meters to win the pole vault. This jump makes her the 68th ranked Division I pole vaulter this year. Senior Lena Perlmutter may not have reached the podium, but her fifth place pole vault jump of 3.51 meters puts her at eighth on Lehigh's all time indoor performance list. Grace Nation earned a pair of runner-up placements in the long and triple jumps. The senior jumped 5.47 meters in the long jump, and a personal best 11.71 meters in the triple to move her up to fourth on the performance list. First-year Charlotte DeForest joined her teammate on the podium in third. She also soared to a new personal best, jumping 10.87 meters. In the high jump, sophomore Anna Troutman and senior Corinn Brewer both cleared the 1.60 meter bar to reach the podium. Troutman beat out her teammate on attempts to take second, but Brewer's third place finishing jump was a new personal record.
The one mile run was the first event on the track. Junior Devon Sutton led the way for the Mountain Hawks with a season's best time of 5:10.80 to finish 11th. Sophomore Elizabeth Ehrhadt was just behind in 13th, running 5:11.73, a new personal record.
Lehigh had a handful of top six finishes on the 60 meter track. The Mountain Hawks had three first-years finish sequentially over hurdles. Maggie Scalzo was the runner up in the event, tying her personal record of 8.97. Lyssi Penn finished third, crossing the line in 8.99. Faith Schiffer earned fourth, running 9.12 to topple her previous personal record. In the flat 60 meter dash, first-year Harper Glennon finished in sixth. Her time of 7.70 improved upon her personal best by one hundredths of a second, lowering her second place spot on Lehigh's performance list.
The Mountain Hawks took the majority of the available podium spots in the 300, 400, and 500 meter races. First-year Sophia Lee took third in the 500, running 1:18.06. Kayleigh Jamieson won the 400 meter, narrowly breaking the 57-second mark for the first time by running 56.99. Junior Kasey White also got a new personal record with her third place finish, clocking 57.29. Both women caused changes to the all time leaderboard, with Jamieson now sitting at fifth and White at seventh. In the 300 meter dash, Lehigh swept the podium. Senior Grace Kennedy took the win with a new personal best, running 39.68. Sophomore Lanae Carrington also gained a new personal record with her second place finish, crossing the line in 40.95. Sophomore Adelaide Videon-Perino took third with a 41.65-second run.
Lehigh's remaining victory came from Grace Hughes running 1000-meters. The junior ran 2:54.92, breaking her personal record and into Lehigh's performance list at 10th.
Senior Lucy Afanasewicz and first-year Zoe Louis both earned podium spots and new personal records in the 800 meter run. Afanasewicz ran 2:13.04 to place second, earning the 10th spot on Lehigh's indoor performance list. Louis took bronze, finishing at 2:13.40.
The final two individual events of the day resulted in fourth place finishes for the Mountain Hawks. Sophomore Jade Sanders ran 25.05 in the 200, and first-year Grace Trimmer ran 10:26.50 in the 3000.
Lehigh's next and final indoor meet comes next weekend. The Mountain Hawks will compete in the Patriot League Championships in Boston, February 28 and March 1.
