BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Lehigh's women's track and field team split their squad between two meets on Saturday. The majority of the team traveled back to the University of Pennsylvania to compete at the Quaker Invitational. Another chunk of the roster stayed home at Rauch Fieldhouse to brave the winter weather and the Moravian University Blue & Grey Invite.

Quaker Invitational
Lehigh put out many notable performances at the Quaker Invitational, but none better than Grace Aggen's. The senior hit her stride, launching the shot put 14.77 meters for a new school record. She smashed her previous best time of 14.22, as well of the previous record of 14.52 set by Teasha McKoy. She also bested the previous meet record with her second place finish. Her throw is the 64th best in Division I this season, and 74th in the entire NCAA. Aggen was also Lehigh's highest placing athlete for the weight throw, where her 13.75-meter throw landed her at 16th.

The Mountain Hawks earned four other top ten placements in the jumping events. Seniors Melanie LaCorte and Laura Reigle opened the meets with high finishes in their respective events. LaCorte cleared the 1.58-meter height to place sixth in the high jump, and Reigle flew 3.62-meters in the pole vault to place eighth. First-year Charlotte DeForest jumped 5.23-meters in the long jump, which landed her in ninth place. Casey Talamini-Kelemen had the best placement for the jumpers. She cleared a season's best 11.67 meters to earn fifth in the triple jump.

The sprinting events were led by a pair of duos for Lehigh. Senior Gianna Mangili and first-year Harper Glennon both put up their best performances in the 60 meter dash. Mangili ran a season's best time of 7.78 to place 15th, and Glennon was close behind in 18th. Glennon's 7.80-second run also earned her the fourth spot on Lehigh's all-time indoor performance list. The duo also both ran personal best performances over 200 meters. Glennon had the advantage in this event, running 25.75 to Mangili's 25.77. The pair placed 20th and 21st respectively. However it was teammates Grace Kennedy and Jade Sanders who had the best 200 meter races for Lehigh. They were in lock-step the entire time, finishing with one-tenth of a second between them in the ninth heat. Kennedy got the edge, crossing the line at 25.49 to place 16th to Sanders' 25.50-second 17th place finish. Sanders' time was a personal best, and earned her the fourth spot on the all-time performance list. She also put up a personal best and all time performance in the 200, running 56.98 to move to third all-time for Lehigh. Ahead of her again was Kennedy, who ran 56.56 to place third overall to Sanders' fifth.

The 500 meter race featured four personal best performances for all four Mountain Hawks who competed. Senior Abby Klebe led the way, she ran 1:14.71 to place 11th, which is the second fastest indoor time in Lehigh history. Not far behind was first-year Kayleigh Jamieson at 1:15.12. She placed 12th, and moved her to fifth on the all-time performance list. Senior Amber Barrios and sophomore Adelaide Videon-Perino were next, finishing 21st and 22nd respectively. Barrios ran 1:18.93 for her personal record, and Videon-Perino crossed the line at 1:59.56.

The first-year pair of Lyssi Penn and Maggie Scalzo both placed in the top half of the field in the 60 meter hurdles. Penn ran a personal best time of 9.02 to place ninth, and Scalzo finished 12th with a 9.16-second race.

The team of Jamieson, Klebe, Barrios, and Lanae Carrington secured Lehigh's remaining top ten finish at the meet. The team placed tenth overall in the 4x400 meter relay, running 3:56.87.

Moravian University Blue & Grey Invite
Lehigh dominated the field events at the Blue & Grey Invite. The Mountain Hawks placed an athlete in the top five in four of the five events, winning two of them. Sophomore Peyton Lewis took the win in the high jump. She was one of two competitors in the event, and her 1.43-meter jump gave her her first collegiate win. Lehigh took the top two spots in the pole vault. Senior Lena Pearlmutter and junior Catherine Yazdanyar both cleared 3.17 meters, but Pearlmutter took first due to fewer attempts. Both women achieved a personal accomplishment from this battle, as this was Pearlmutter's event win in college, and Yazdanyar's vault was a personal best. First-year Avery Hogan also had a good day in the field, as she placed fifth in the shot put due to her 10.83-meter throw.

Senior Corinn Brewer and sophomore Anna Troutman did not just succeed in the field, but also on the track. Both women placed highly in the long jump as well as the 60 meter hurdles. Brewer placed third long jumping with a 5.21-meter leap, and Troutman was right behind with a personal best jump of 5.20 meters to place fourth. Troutman had the edge in the hurdles, as her 9.47-second run outpaced Brewer's time of 9.69. However, they were both eclipsed by first-year Faith Schiffer, who won the event in 9.44 in her collegiate debut.

Lehigh also placed highly over long distances. First-years Emerson Skatell and Emma Hyde ran their 3000 meter debuts. Skatell ran a heat winning time of 10:51.76 to place eighth, and Hyde placed right behind her in ninth, running 10:55.46. Senior Elisa Brear made her season debut in the mile. She ran 5:47.08 to place seventh.

The Mountain Hawks concluded the meet with a second place finish in the 4x400 relay. The team of Lewis, Schiffer, Troutman, and Emma Sanford ran 4:18.01.

The Mountain Hawks will split their team up again next week. They will compete in New York City at the Dr. Sander Scorcher, which will be hosted by Columbia University on January 23 and 24. Lehigh will also race at home again at the Moravian Hounds Classic, which will take place Saturday at Rauch Fieldhouse.
