BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's soccer has announced the addition of Will Flannery as an assistant coach to its staff ahead of the 2025 season.
"We are excited to welcome Will to our coaching staff and soccer program as he brings an impressive resume for a young coach," said Ingrassia Family Men's Head Soccer Coach Dean Koski. "Playing for and coaching with Jorge Chapoy, Dickinson's head men's soccer coach, I have no doubt that Will is ready for the challenges of Division I soccer. He will bring energy, experience and enthusiasm to the team as we are eager to get him connected to the players and the program."
Flannery arrives in Bethlehem following a successful tenure as the First Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Dickinson College. He also served as a head coach at Eagle FC, leading multiple youth and U23 teams and helping develop players across all levels of collegiate soccer. Flannery holds the USSF Grassroots License and is currently completing his D License.
"I'm extremely honored and grateful to have been afforded by this opportunity by Coach Koski, Coach Hess, and the Athletics Department," said Flannery. "I know that my own personal values align fully with those that the program represents and upholds and getting to learn and grow under such a knowledgeable and experienced staff is an incredible privilege for me. Being able to compete in one of the best academic and athletic conferences in the nation is a tremendous opportunity for anyone lucky enough to be in this profession, and I look forward to serving well-rounded, high-achieving student-athletes every day."
While at Dickinson, Flannery helped guide the program to unprecedented success, including a run to the 2024 NCAA Elite 8 along with a final national ranking of No. 6. That same year, Dickinson's staff was named both the United Soccer Coaches Region V Coaching Staff of the Year and the Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. During his time with the Red Devils, Flannery played a key role in recruiting and developing two All-Americans, five All-Region selections, and 10 All-Conference players, including the 2024 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year.
Flannery was a five-year member of the Dickinson men's soccer team, serving as captain for three seasons. He transitioned into a player-assistant coaching role during the 2021 season due to injury and continued in that capacity through his graduation in 2022. As a student-athlete, he was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and served in multiple leadership roles both on and off the field.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Flannery is the founder of College Skills Youth Camps and previously served as an assistant coach for the Eagle FC USL W team, helping guide the team to the national semifinals in 2023. He also helped launch Eagle FC's U23 men's team, recruiting talent from Division I, II, III, and JUCO programs.
Flannery earned his bachelor's degree in International Business and Management from Dickinson College, graduating magna cum laude, and holds a master's degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from Shippensburg University.
