
Dow and Checo Earns USA Lacrosse All-America Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Lehigh men's lacrosse senior faceoff specialist Sean Dow and junior defenseman Richard Checo have earned All-America honors from USA Lacrosse, as announced Thursday afternoon.
USA Lacrosse All-Americans are selected by staff and contributors.
This marks the first All-America honor for Dow and the third consecutive season Checo has received the recognition.
Dow had a standout season in the Brown and White, earning Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Year and first team All-Patriot League honors. The Simpsonville, S.C., native ranks sixth nationally in faceoff win percentage (63.4%), winning a career-best 194 of 305 attempts. He is also eighth in the nation in ground balls per game (7.60). He delivered a dominant performance at Navy, going 23-for-25 on faceoffs and picking up a career-high 14 ground balls. Dow was outstanding during league play, winning 73.3% of his battles.Â
Checo continued his defensive dominance, leading the NCAA in caused turnovers per game (3.29) for the second time in three seasons. He totaled 45 caused turnovers and 40 ground balls this season, also earning first team All-Patriot League honors. The Oakton, Va., native recorded at least one caused turnover in every game and notched 12 multiple caused turnover performances. Checo finished with a season-high of seven caused turnovers against Army (3/15). He needs 12 more caused turnovers to tie Craig Chick '19 for the most caused turnovers in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse.Â
