Mountain Hawks Break 4x800m School Record On Day One Of Patriot League Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – Lehigh women's track and field kicked off their weekend at the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday. A school record, new additions to top ten lists and qualifiers for tomorrow's finals highlighted the day for the women.
The Mountain Hawks currently sit in fifth place in the team standings following the first day of competition.
JUMPS
Junior Laura Reigle put forth a solid effort in the pole vault, taking fourth after reaching 3.97m.
Senior Keisha Modi led the way for Lehigh in the long jump, taking seventh at 5.59m. Junior Grace Nation (11th, 5.50m), senior Lillian Mauger (13th, 5.31m) and senior Lauren Roy (17th, 4.98m) also competed in the long jump for the Mountain Hawks.
MID-DISTANCE
Senior Savanah Beavers took eighth place in the 10K, finishing in 37:37.10.
Sophomore Hope Trimmer qualified for the finals in the 1500m, placing 12th with a new PR of 4:34.15. Sophomore Grace Hughes also recorded a new PR of 4:35.41 in her 14th place finish.
Senior Svea Wickelgren was Lehigh's top finisher in the 800m, becoming second all-time in program history with a finish of 2:08.11 to take fourth and qualify for the finals. Junior Abby Klebe also qualified for the finals with a seventh-place finish of 2:09.24. First-year Lauren Bower (15th, 2:13.26) and senior Riley Morrell (21st, 2:18.53) also competed for Lehigh.
The team of Lauryn Heskin, Amber Barrios, Svea Wickelgren and Abby Klebe made history, breaking the school record to take third in the 4x800m with a time of 8:46.01.

SPRINTS/HURDLES
Senior Shelby Dejana qualified for the finals in the 100m hurdles, taking eighth at 14.47 to set a new PR and move into seventh all-time in school history.
First-year Jade Sanders moved into third all-time in school history in the 400m, setting a PR of 55.49 to take eighth and qualify for the finals. Sophomore Kasey White (12th, 57.01, eighth all-time) and senior Stephanie Webb (15th, 58.54) also competed in the 400m for Lehigh.
Junior Gianna Mangili was Lehigh's lone participant in the 100m, taking 12th at 12.29.
Both of Lehigh's participants in the 400m hurdles qualified for Saturday's finals. Junior Grace Kennedy finished first with a time of 1:01.19 while first-year Lanae Carrington took sixth at 1:02.83.
Sanders moved into sixth all-time in the 200m, finishing 12th with a time of 25.06. White (18th, 25.30) and Mangili (25th, 25.71) also ran the 200m.
THROWS
Sophomore Avery Dowkus earned a bronze medal in the hammer throw, reaching seventh all-time in Lehigh history with a throw of 51.85m.
HEPTATHLON
Sophomore Emma Sanford and first-year Corinn Brewer are competing in the heptathlon for the Mountain Hawks. Sanford is currently in sixth place while Brewer sits in ninth place after the first day of competition.
In the 100m hurdles, Sanford took seventh with a time of 15.38 while Brewer took tenth at 15.96. In the high jump, Sanford was sixth at 1.52m while Brewer took 12th at 1.46m. In the 200m, Sanford finished eighth at 26.82 while Brewer finished right behind her in ninth at 26.90.

The Mountain Hawks return to action from Worcester on Saturday, May 3 at 8 a.m. for day two of the Patriot League Championships.
