Klebe, Jaques Garner Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh track and field teams picked up a pair of Patriot League weekly awards Tuesday for outstanding performances at last weekend's Bison Outdoor Classic. Junior Abby Klebe was named Patriot League Women's Track Athlete of the Week and junior Wil Jaques received Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors. Klebe and Jaques are the second and third Lehigh athletes to win Patriot League weekly awards during the outdoor season.

Klebe won two events Saturday in Lewisburg, Pa., taking victories in the 800m and the invitational 1500m. Her time of 2:05.22 in the 800m broke her own school record by more than 1.4 seconds. It is the top time in the Patriot League this season by nearly three seconds. Klebe's 800m mark ranks 28th in the East and 36th in all of Division I. In the 1500m, Klebe's 4:24.84 is the No. 2 time in Lehigh history and ranks fifth in the Patriot League this season.

Jaques capped a strong weekend for Lehigh's javelin throwers by winning the event at Bucknell, with his throw of 68.23m bettering his second all-time mark for the Mountain Hawks. The mark has Jaques ranked first in the Patriot League, 16th in the East and 32nd in Division I.

The Mountain Hawks have two more meets on tap this weekend with some athletes headed to the Virginia Challenge, Friday-Saturday in Charlottesville, Va., and others competing at Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitational, Friday in Bethlehem.
