BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women's basketball head coach Addie Micir was named the Patriot League Coach of the Year, while three Mountain Hawks earned all-league honors, as announced Friday afternoon.
Fifth-year guard Maddie Albrecht earned first team All-Patriot League and All-Defensive honors, senior guard Ella Stemmer was named to second team All-Patriot League, and first-year forward Belle Bramer landed a spot on the All-Rookie Team.
Micir's Coach of the Year honor marks Lehigh's first such award since Sue Troyan won in 2009-10. Despite receiving no first-place votes in the preseason poll, Micir led Lehigh to the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Under her leadership, Lehigh has posted a 24-6 overall record and a 15-3 mark in league play. The Mountain Hawks' 24 wins are tied for the third-most in a season in program history. This season, Lehigh secured its first-ever win against a Big Ten opponent, defeating Northwestern 85-68 on Nov. 10. Micir also recorded her 50th career win in a 73-51 victory over Lafayette on Jan. 5. In three seasons at the helm, she holds a 58-33 record, boasting a 63% winning percentage.
Albrecht, in her fifth and final year of eligibility, had a breakout season, setting career-highs in every statistical category. She becomes the second player in program history to land on the All-Defensive team and the first since Hannah Hedstrom in 2019. She is the first player in program history to earn first team all-league honors and all-defensive honors in the same season. The Billings, Mont., native earns her second All-League honor after being named to the third team last season. She is averaging 15.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Albrecht ranks third in the league in points (15.7), second in field goal percentage (53.2%), third in steals (1.8), fourth in three-point percentage (39.1%), and ninth in blocks (0.7). She has scored in double figures in 27 of Lehigh's 30 games this season, including a career-high 31 points in a game against Navy, where she went 11-of-15 from the field.
Stemmer received her first all-league honors. The Ann Arbor, Mich., native continues to make her mark in Lehigh's record books, becoming the 24th player in program history to score 1,000 career points and the third to make 200 career three-pointers. Stemmer is averaging 11.5 points per game, the second-most on the team and 13th in the league. She has scored in double figures 19 times this season, including a pair of games where she scored 21 points. Stemmer is shooting 33% from beyond the arc, and her 2.4 three-pointers made per game rank second in the league.
Bramer has enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Brown and White, earning Lehigh's first All-Rookie honor since Lily Fandre in 2022-23. The Los Gatos, Calif., native is averaging 4.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. While her stats are solid, her impact extends beyond the numbers, as Bramer has become one of Lehigh's top defenders, collecting 18 steals. She also set a career-high with 15 points in a game against Army on Jan. 8. Bramer is shooting 48% from the field.
Lehigh will face the winner of the first-round game between No. 8 Boston University and Loyola in the Patriot League Quarterfinal on Monday at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.Â
