Lehigh Concludes Day At Fastrack Nationals

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Lehigh women's track and field competed at Fastrack Nationals at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday after a dominant 102-79 dual meet victory over rival Lafayette last Saturday.
MID-DISTANCE, DISTANCE
Four Mountain Hawks competed in the 3k race for Lehigh. Junior Dakota Russell finished in 22nd at 10:21.03 followed by first-year Kaya Meler (31st, 10:39.16), first-year Brenna Dahlgren (38th, 10:46.67) and first-year Chloe Browne (41st, 10:49.18).
Senior Savanah Beavers, first-year Kaitlyn Highduch and first-year Isabel Owens competed in the 1 mile race for the Mountain Hawks. Beavers finished in ninth place at 5:03.92, Highduch took 22nd at 5:17.89 and Owens finished 32nd at 5:24.31.
Senior Lauryn Heskin impressed with a second place finish in the 800m at 2:14.56. She was followed by first-year Lauren Bower (13th, 2:18.56), sophomore Siri Hellenbrand (29th, 2:23.45) and first-year Jacqueline Gifford (34th, 2:24.06).
The team of Heskin, Bower, Beavers and junior Amber Barrios represented Lehigh in the 4000m distance medley relay, claiming second place at 12:20.66.

JUMPS
Senior Izabel Fronc and first-year Anna Troutman each recorded a 1.65m high jump, which ranked them both in first place in the event. Junior Melanie LaCorte finished ninth at 1.55m while first-year Corinn Brewer took 16th at 1.50m.
Brewer was Lehigh's top finisher in the pole vault, claiming sixth with a 3.50m jump. Junior Lena Perlmutter finished tenth at 3.20m, senior Rory Stein took 13th at 3.05m while junior Sarah Goode also recorded a jump of 3.05m to take 16th.
Senior Lillian Mauger claimed third place in the long jump with a leap of 5.60m. Senior Keisha Modi took 11th at 5.37m followed by senior Lauren Roy (19th, 5.14m) and junior Grace Nation (27th, 5.02m).
Nation was Lehigh's top finisher in the triple jump, reaching 11.48m to take third. Roy placed 11th with a 10.69m jump.
Sophomore Emma Sanford finished first in the long jump open with a jump of 5.25m.
SPRINTS/HURDLES
Sanford competed in the 60m hurdles prelim for Lehigh, placing 21st at 9.74m.
Junior Gianna Mangili took home ninth place in 60m dash invitational prelim with a finish of 7.84.
Six student-athletes competed in the 400m dash. Junior Grace Kennedy had a fantastic showing, placing second at 56.29. Lehigh's other finishers included first-year Lanae Carrington (21st, 59.69), sophomore Mila Jovanovic (26th, 1:00.03), Barrios (38th, 1:00.44), first-year Adelaide Videon-Perino (39th, 1:00.93) and senior Stephanie Webb (41st, 1:01.79).
Kennedy took home a sixth place finish of 25.47 in the 200m while Mangili finished in 16th at 26.15.
Brewer claimed third in the 60m hurdles open final with a time of 9.50.

Junior Grace Aggen emerged victorious in the shot put, taking first place with a 14.22m toss. Sophomore Avery Dowkus placed fourth at 12.68m while first-year Madeline Hussey (16th, 11.01m) and first-year Alyson Marmor (25th, 10.29m) followed.
Dowkus was Lehigh's top finisher in the weight throw, claiming fourth place at 15.54m. She was followed by junior Jennifer Whipple (17th, 14.07m), first-year Olivia Dubrow (25th, 12.66m) and Hussey (35th, 11.13m).

The Mountain Hawks return to action next weekend at the Indoor Classic hosted by Widener at the University of Pennsylvania on February 14-15.
