
Mountain Hawks Dominate La Salle 16-3

PHILADELPHIA - In its second game of the 2025 season, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team defeated the La Salle Explorers 16-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Lehigh was led by junior Kacie Wines with five goals, while sophomores Shannon Nolan (4 goals, 1 assist) and Molly Snow (4 goals)

Lehigh struck first, taking a 1-0 lead, as Nolan scored her first goal of the afternoon on a free position shot. La Salle responded with a goal of its own before Lehigh netted back-to-back goals, taking a 3-1 lead with 9:23 on the clock. Wines and Snow contributed their first goals of the day in the run.

La Salle erased the deficit, responding with two goals to knot the score at 3-3. Closing out the first quarter, sophomore Grace Martel gave Lehigh a 4-3 lead with eight seconds remaining in the first.

The Mountain Hawks had a dominant second quarter, exploding on a 5-0 run. Wines and Nolan contributed two goals apiece while Snow tallied one as Lehigh took a 9-3 lead into intermission.

Lehigh started the second half how it finished the first, as Snow completed the hattrick with 13:59 left in the third quarter. With 10:50 on the clock, senior Angelina Pino connected on a free position attempt to extend Lehigh's lead to 11-3.Â

To close out the third quarter, Wines, Snow and Nolan each netted a goal as Lehigh led 14-3 heading into the fourth quarter.Â

Junior Karina Van der Walt entered the scoring column to start the final period. Wines netted her fifth goal with 22 seconds left as Lehigh defeated the Explorers 16-3.

Sophomore Grace Martel led the Mountain Hawks in draw controls with eight, while classmate Brynn Freeman led in caused turnovers with two.

Senior goalkeeper Julia DeLitta made six saves while La Salle's Mary Babbage recorded 13.
