
Lehigh Falls to USF In 2025 Opener

TAMPA, Fla. - The Lehigh Mountain Hawks opened their season with a 17-7 loss to USF on Friday night in Tampa.

USF controlled momentum early in the contest, going on a three-goal run to open the first quarter. Senior Angelina Pino broke up the run, scoring her first goal of the game with 3:38 left in the first.

The Bulls tallied another goal in the final seconds of the first, before opening up with two more goals in the second, taking a 5-1 lead.

With 11:30 on the clock, sophomore Molly Snow scored her first goal of the night off an assist from newcomer Gracie Shoup. USF responded with another three-goal run, extending its lead to 8-2 with 6:26 left in the first half.

Lehigh went on its own three-goal run to close out the first half, featuring scores from Pino, a man-up goal from Shannon Nolan and a free-position goal by Kacie Wines. With the flurry of goals, the Mountain Hawks cut the Bulls' lead to 8-5 heading into intermission.

The Bulls went on a 6-1 run in the third quarter, holding a 14-6 lead at the conclusion of the third. Breaking up the run, Pino secured the hat trick for Lehigh's lone goal.Â

USF opened scoring in the final quarter, taking a 15-6 lead. With 6:38 remaining, Shoup scored her first career goal as a Mountain Hawk, cutting the deficit to 15-7. The Bulls added two more goals as they went on to win 17-7.

USF held a 39-19 shot advantage and 24-13 in shots on goal. Sophomore Grace Martel made her debut at the draw, leading with five draw controls, while sophomore Brynn Freeman added four. Defensively, senior Lauren Warfield led the way with two caused turnovers.

In her first full game in net, senior Julia DeLittla recorded seven saves and one ground ball. USF's Paige Pagano tallied six saves.

The Mountain Hawks are back in action on Saturday, February 22 as they travel to La Salle for a noon matchup.
