Reigle And Yakaboski Named Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Capping off a successful outdoor season and semester, sophomore Laura Reigle and senior Christina Yakaboski were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for cross country and track and field, announced Tuesday afternoon.Â

Yakaboski closes out her career as a Mountain Hawks as a mainstay in academic honors. Over the span of her career, she garnered six career Academic All-Patriot League honors spanning across cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field. In the outdoor Patriot League Championships, the Calverton, N.Y. native placed seventh in the 5,000m with a time of 17:04.57. At the ECAC/IC4A Championships, the senior won the 3000m, securing a second all-time mark of 9:43.30 and the title. Yakaboski graduated in May with a dual major in economics and design.

This season, Reigle claimed her second title in two years at Lehigh with a jump of 3.97m in the Patriot League Championship. She followed up her victory with another title at ECAC/IC4A (4.06m), concluding the 2024 season finished tied for 11th in her flight with a jump of 3.95m. As a Mountain Hawk, she currently holds the school record in both the indoor (4.10m) and outdoor (4.06m) pole vault. A Design major, Reigle was named to both the Indoor and Outdoor Academic All-Patriot League Teams and landed on the Patriot League Honor Roll at the conclusion of her rookie season last year.

The Academic All-District teams, selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better and be a starter or key reserve.
