
Lehigh Secures Most Wins Since 2004 With 6-1 Victory Over Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Lehigh women's tennis bested Bucknell 6-1 Sunday afternoon in Lewisburg to improve to 13-5 (4-2 PL) on the season. Lehigh's 13 wins marks the most wins in program history since the 2004-05 season. The Mountain Hawks started the match off by winning the doubles point after taking 2-of-3 doubles matches, and they would not look back from there.Â
Anushka Dania and Megha Dania won 6-4 over Mirra Manolov and Anna Lajos on court No. 2, and Hamsa Javagal and Audrey Harrington secured the doubles point for Lehigh with a 7-5 victory over Madison Sebulsky and Caroline Marcus on court No. 3.
Anushka Dania won the first singles point at the No. 5 spot for Lehigh after only losing four games to Jaycie Mair. Megha Dania defeated Tyne Miller 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot. While Lehigh won the match, the Danias were the only one to win in two sets.
Javagal lost the first set 6-3 but battled back, winning the next two sets 6-3, 6-1. Javagal's victory also secured the win for Lehigh. Maggie Forkner took down Anna Lajos at the No. 2 singles spot after dropping the first set 6-2 and winning the final two sets 6-2, 7-5. Giselle Vlassis also won in three sets after losing the first set 7-6 (7) and winning the next sets 6-3, (10-8).Â
Lehigh returns to action at Army West Point on Friday at 3:30 p.m. before closing out the regular season against Boston University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in West Point, N.Y.Â
