
Lehigh Beats Saint Joseph's 5-2, Picks up Third Straight Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's tennis captured its third straight win after defeating Saint Joseph's 5-2 Friday afternoon at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center.
The Mountain Hawks started off strong, sweeping all three doubles matches to pick up the doubles point. Allyce Gaborik and Maggie Forkner defeated Fabiana Tort-Umpierre and Victoria Tracey 6-0, Anushka Dania and Megha Dania bested Ana Ocasio and Kirsten Wijnsem 6-2, and Hamsa Javagal and Audrey Harrington also won their match 6-2 over Sophia Amato and Ireland Amato to improve to 5-0 on this season.
Gaborik needed just 34 minutes to pick up the first singles point for Lehigh, defeating Sophia Amato 6-3, 6-0.
Maggie Forkner continued Lehigh's strong play out of the number two spot as she bested Victoria Tracey 7-5, 6-1.
Javagal clinched the win for Lehigh at the No.1 spot as she beat Tort-Umpierre. She won 6-1 in the first set, lost the next set 2-6, but battled back to secure the win in the final set with a 6-3 victory.
Despite the win, Lehigh continued to play out the remaining matches. Anushka Dania picked up a 6-1, 5-7, 10-3 over Brooke Tackett at the No. 5 spot.
Megha Dania suffered a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Charlotte Kordonowy out of the No.4 spot.
Hannah Letzer was defeated 8-6 in the pro-set out of theNo. 6 spot.
The Mountain Hawks will look to make it four straight when they host Hofstra on Sunday at 12 p.m.
