BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's tennis picked up its second straight win to close out the weekend, defeating Rider 4-1 Sunday morning at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center.
Lehigh started off strong, picking up the doubles point after the Mountain Hawks won all three doubles matches.
Anushka Dania and Megha Dania needed just 21 minutes to defeat Laila Fishman and Jett Coetzee 6-0.
Maggie Forkner and Alyce Gaborik won their match, beating Sofia Gutierrez and Agnese Ceccarelli 6-2. While Lehigh played out the last doubles match after Forkner and Gaborik, it was their match that secured the doubles point for the Mountain Hawks.
Adurey Harrington and Hamsa Javagal clinched a sweep in doubles after they defeated Avery Oppenheim and Elle Catanzarite 6-4.
Forkner picked up the first singles point at the second singles spot for Lehigh after defeating Ceccarelli 6-0, 6-2 in just 51 minutes.
Javgal picked up her first singles win of the weekend at the number one singles spot, besting Fishman 6-4, 6-2.
Megha Dania clinched the win for the Mountain Hawks at the number four spot after she beat Coetzee 6-3, 6-2
Lehigh played to clinch, so Anushka Dania and Hannah Letzer did not finish their matches, but Anushka Dania was winning 2-1 at the five singles spot.
The Mountain Hawks will look to make it three wins in a row when they host Saint Joseph's on Friday at 4 p.m.
