BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Five Lehigh women's swimmers landed on the All-Patriot League team, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon. Senior Sarah Hardy and junior Willa Werwaiss both landed on the first team, and sophomore Mairin Ludwig and seniors Noel Fresa and Julia Stevens landed on the second team.

The swimmers and divers who place first in individual events at the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championship automatically qualify for the All-League first team, while runner-up finishers are guaranteed at least a second-team spot. Both teams are completed based on overall points compiled during the championship.

Hardy, Werwaiss and Stevens all landed on an all-league team last year, while Fresa and Ludwig landed on her first all-league team this season. The Mountain Hawks finished fifth at the Patriot League Championships after scoring 850.50 points.

This marks the second straight season Hardy landed on the first team.  Hardy won both the 200-yard butterfly and the 400-yard IM, setting school records in both events as well. She is the first swimmer under head coach Rob Herb to win two gold medals at the Patriot League Championships. Hardy scored 88 points at the Patriot League Championships, which was the fourth-most points scored at Patriots. In addition to landing on the podium twice with gold medals, she also took second in the 800-yard free relay team alongside Ludwig and Werwaiss.

Although Werwaiss landed on an all-league team last year, this is the first time she landed on the first team. Werwaiss took home three medals at the Patriot League Championships,  placing second in the 500-yard free, second in the 800-yard free relay and third in the 200-yard freestyle. She also took home a sixth-place mark in the 200-yard backstroke. Werwaiss scored a total 79 points for the Mountain Hawks at Patriots, which was tied for ninth in the Patriot League.

Ludwig landed on the podium with the 800-yard free relay team and was just one spot away from a medal in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing in fourth place. Ludwig also won the B-Final in the 500-yard freestyle and took fifth in the 200-yard freestyle.

Stevens grabbed the first medal of her career after taking third in the 200-yard butterfly. She also tied for seventh in the 100-yard butterfly with teammate Cailtin Deitch and took 16th in  the 200-yard IM.

Fresa put up a total of 56 points after a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle and an  eighth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. She also tallied a 16th-place mark in the 100-yard backstroke.
