Mountain Hawks Continue Non-League Play with Seton Hall

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's tennis is back home at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Seton Hall. The Mountain Hawks are searching for their second straight win after defeating Binghamton 7-0 last Sunday.Â
The Mountain Hawks enter Saturday's match with a 6-2 overall record, which ties their win total from last season. If Lehigh wins on Saturday, it would mark the most wins since the 2018-19 season when the Mountain Hawks finished 8-11.Â
First-year Maggie Forkner was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Tuesday after winning all four of her matches. Forkner played at the No.1 singles spot in Lehigh's two matches last week for the first time in her career and won both of those, needing just two sets to do so. Forkner is 6-2 in singles play and 4-2 in doubles play.Â
While Lehigh lost 4-3 to Johns Hopkins last week, the Mountain Hawks picked up the doubles point last week. Lehigh has now won the doubles point in seven of its eight matches this season.
Forkner wasn't the only Mountain Hawk to go undefeated last weekend. Senior Anushka Dania won all four of her matches last week. Dania also was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Feb. 13. She is now 5-1 in singles play and is 6-2 in doubles play alongside Megha Dania.Â
First-year Giselle Vlassis picked up the first singles win of her career, defeating Binghamton's Britney Korir 6-2, 6-0.Â
Seton Hall is 3-3 on the season. There have been three common opponents so far for the two teams, including Hofstra, Monmouth and Rider.Â
Next up, the Mountain Hawks play at Marist on March 2 at 5 p.m.Â
