Reigle Captures Pole Vault Title as Mountain Hawks Finish 6th at the ECAC/IC4A Championships

FAIRFAX, Va.  — The Lehigh women's track and field team finished 6th of 39 scoring teams at the 2023 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by George Mason University on Saturday and Sunday.
 
After day one, Hampton and William & Mary were tied for first after the first day, with 39 points each while the 2023 Patriot League Champions, Navy, are just a half a point ahead of the Mountain Hawks, with 39.5 points for third place. Lehigh is in fourth with 35 points while fellow league foe Army West Point is a point behind at 34 points for fifth place.
 
At the conclusion of the meet, Towson was the one finishing on top with 89.5 points, followed by Hampton and William & Mary. Navy placed fourth with 52.5 points while VCU finished in fifth 44.5 points, just a half-point ahead of the Mountain Hawks, who finished sixth with 44 points.

Jumps
Laura Reigle used her momentum from winning the Patriot League outdoor championship to propel her to winning the 2023 ECAC/IC4A pole vault championship by clearing 4.03m.
 
Kerry Perna was the lone Mountain Hawk competing in the high jump and finished 14th by clearing 1.63m while Lillian Mauger competed in the long jump and finished 10th with a mark of 5.51m. Nina Cialone was in the triple jump and finished in 16th with a mark of 11.77m. 

Relays
Svea Wickelgren, Elena Perez-Segnini, Abigail Klebe and Lauren Heskin, captured a second-place finish in the 4x800m relay, an event that the Mountain Hawks won at the Patriot League Championships a week ago, with a time of 8:47.44

Distance/Mid-Distance
Abigail Tenreiro took home second place in the 10,000m run and earned eight points with her time of 37:06.60.
 
Simone Davey and Svea Wickelgren both ran in the 800m race and set personal bests, with Wickelgren finishing 12th with a time of 2:12.91 while Davey placed 21st with a mark of 2:13.83.
 
Christina Yakaboski captured third place in the 1,500m race for six points after crossing the finish line in a personal best time of 4:26.18, the second fastest mark all-time. Elena Perez-Segnini and Andrea Miller (PR) also ran the 1,500m and finished ninth and tenth respectively.
 
Maddison Hayes competed in the 3,000m race and earned a seventh-place finish and two points after completing the race in 10:04.94 for a PR.
 
Lindsay MacLellan and Savanah Beavers raced in the 3,000m steeplechase and finished fourth and fifth respectively to collect nine points for the Mountain Hawks. MacLellan completed the event in a time of 10:48.17 for a PR and the seventh fastest time in school history while Beavers ran the race n 10:50.93.
 
Sprints
In the 400m hurdles, Lauren Powell took home an eighth-place finish to grab a point for Lehigh with her time of 1:02.80 while Ashley Griesmeyer ran in the 100m hurdles prelims and finished ninth, just missing the cut for the finals with a PR time of 14.384 seconds.
 
After the conclusion of this weekend's 2023 IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, Lehigh will wait and see if there is an individual who qualifies for the first round of NCAAs, which will take place  May 24-27.
