Reigle Breaks Pole Vault School Record as Lehigh Collects Eight First-Place Finishes as Hosts of the Lehigh Games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh women's track and field program hosted the Lehigh Games at the Goodman Track and Field Complex Friday and Saturday, April 7-8 and came away with eight event winners.
The non-team scoring event featured seven other teams that joined the Mountain Hawks at this year's games: Bucknell, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, Lafayette, Moravian, Sacred Heart and Saint Joseph's.
Jumps
First-year Laura Reigle broke the school record in the pole vault, previously set by Katie Toman '19 at 3.96m, when she cleared 4.00m to claim first place and a new personal best. Classmate Lena Perlmutter finished tied for sixth with a PR mark of 3.20m.
Sophomore Casey Talamini-Kelemen earned a first-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 11.53m and senior Rachel Sequeira finished third with a mark of 11.16m.
Mauger finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.37m while first-year Grace Nation (5.24m) and Talamini-Kelemen (5.22m) and sophomore Lauren Roy (5.21m) finished sixth through eighth.
Junior Kerry Perna and first-year Melanie LaCorte finished tied for fourth in the high jump with marks of 1.58m while senior Calista Marzolino placed sixth with a distance of 1.58m.
Sprints
Seniors Ashley Griesmeyer and Chae Kim were the top two finishers in the 100m hurdles with Griesmeyer winning the event with a PR time of 14.72 seconds and Kim crossing the finish line in 14.82 seconds for second place.
Lehigh also earned a win in the 400m hurdles when senior Lauren Powell ran a personal best of 1:03.73 to claim the top spot by more than a second over the second-place finisher. The 4x100m relay squad of sophomore Stephanie Webb, junior Ashley Struck and first-years Grace Kennedy and Gianna Mangili finished second with a time of 48.17 seconds.
Both the "A" and "B" squads for the Mountain Hawks 4x400m relay finished first and second overall with times under four minutes. The "A" team of Kennedy sophomore Lillian Mauger, first-year Abigail Klebe and Struck finished first in a time of 3:55.67 and the quartet of Webb, Powell, sophomore Svea Wickelgren and first-year Amber Barrios placed second with a time of 3:57.74.
Struck won the 200m dash with a time of 25.07, Webb finished third with 25.77 seconds, and Mangili rounded out the top five with a fifth-place finish in 25.86 seconds. Mangili then earned a second-place finish in the 100m dash in a time of 12.42 with sophomores Lillian Mauger and Webb finishing fifth and sixth respectively with Mauger completing the event in 12.48 seconds and Webb finishing in PR time of 12.51 seconds.
Kennedy then ran in the 400m dash and was the top finisher for the Mountain Hawks, coming in eighth place with a time of 59.11 seconds.
Mid-Distance/Distance
The Mountain Hawks claimed the top five spots in the 1,500m race with Klebe finishing first with a time of 4:38.62 while senior Andrea Miller finished second with a personal best of 4:38.73. Sophomore Lauryn Heskin (4:40.08, PR)), first-year Maddison Hayes (4:43.15, PR) and junior Simone Davey (4:46.72) finished third through fifth respectively. Junior Abigail Tenreiro (7th), sophomore Riley Morrell (8th) and junior Lindsay Maclellan (10th) round out the top 10 performances in the 1,500m.
Sophomore Savanah Beavers won the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:35.99, finishing 26 seconds ahead of the next finishers.
Lehigh claimed four of the five top spots in the 800m with junior Christina Yakaboski running a personal best of 2:14.49 for a first-place finish. Senior Elena Perez-Segnini finished second with a time of 2:14.95 while first-year Lucy Afanasewicz (4th) and senior Annalise Davis (5th) rounded out the top five.
Throws
Junior Karina Roze and senior Emma Harrington finished third and fourth respectively in the discus with Roze recording 39.18m and Harrington throwing a distance of 38.49m.
Rose followed that up by finishing third in the javelin with a distance of 38.90m while Harrington was the top Mountain Hawk finisher in the hammer throw, finishing fifth with a PR mark of 44.50m. Sophomore Grace Aggen recorded a personal best of 38.75m for 11th place.
First-year Jen Whipple recorded a distance of 10.96m in the shot put for a sixth-place finish and junior Brooke Acoveno finished 10th with a distance of 9.23m.

The Mountain Hawks' will travel to Lewisburg to compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic from Friday through Sunday, April 14-16 at the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. All three days are set to be streamed on FloTrack.
