Talamini-Kelemen's School Record Highlights Three Meet Weekend For Mountain Hawks

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Casey Talamini-Kelemen set a new school record in the triple jump at the Virginia Challenge, highlighting a three-meet weekend for the Lehigh women's track and field team. Along with a successful trip to Virginia for select athletes, Lehigh sent throwers to Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitational and sent a contingent to Saturday's Rider Invitational.
 
Virginia Challenge
Talamini-Kelemen jumped 11.93 Friday in the triple jump to eclipse the 11.90 mark previously set by junior Nina Cialone in 2022. On Saturday, graduate student Lauren Powell improved upon her personal record in the 400m hurdles, running 1:04.18 to remain in ninth place at Lehigh all-time. Junior Ashley Strick competed in both the 400m (56.87) and the 200m (25.13). Junior Christina Yakaboski ran the 5000m on Friday with a time of 17.18.6. First-year Abby Klebe and senior Elena Perez-Segnini ran the 800m, with Klebe finishing sixth in 2:09.49 and Perez-Segnini turning in a PR of 2:13.21.
 
Coach Pollard Invitational
First-year Grace Aggen moved into the top 10 all-time in the shot put with a throw of 12.33m good for 10th place. Aggen also posted a PR in the hammer throw, finishing fifth with a toss of 40.91m. Senior Emma Harrington led Lehigh in the hammer on Friday, finishing third with an effort of 42.59m. On Saturday, junior Karina Roze won the javelin with a throw of 36.48m and sophomore Brooke Acoveno set a PR of 31.38m to finish ninth.
 
Rider Invitational
Lehigh had three of the top four finishers in the pole vault with first-year Laura Reigle clearing 3.70m to win. Sophomore Randi Conroy finished third after clearing 3.40m and senior Claire Gatermann finished fourth at 3.25m. Senior Ashley Griesmayer and graduate student Chae Kim went 2-3 in the 100m hurdles, led by Griesmayer's 15.02. First-year Maddison Hayes led three Mountain Hawks in the top six of the 5000m, finishing third in 17:41.00. Junior Lindsay MacLellan finished fifth in the 1500m (4:48.98). First-year Gianna Mangili finished second in the 100m (12.58) and fifth in the 200 (26.43). Sophomore Lillian Mauger finished sixth in the 200m (26.48) and won the long jump with a leap of 5.62m. Junior Kerry Perna finished third in the high jump, clearing 1.61. Senior Rachel Sequeira jumped 11.40m to win the triple jump. In the 800m, sophomore Riley Morrell finished fourth with a PR of 2:19.53 with senior Annalise Davis close behind. First-year Grace Kennedy finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 58.41, .07 ahead of sophomore Svea Wickelgren.
 
The Mountain Hawks will compete in two meets next weekend, the final weekend before the Patriot League Championship May 5-6. Lehigh will host the Carol and John Covert Classic April 28-29 on the Goodman Track and Field Complex, while select athletes will compete at the prestigious Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
