Lehigh Drops Sunday Neutral Site Match To First Place Boston U.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lehigh's women's tennis team ran into a strong Boston University squad Sunday and the Terriers claimed a 7-0 victory on the campus of Navy. The first-place Terriers won the first two doubles flights and all six singles points to move to 4-0 in league action. The Mountain Hawks fall to 5-9 overall and 2-4 against Patriot League foes.

BU won the top two doubles flights, dropping just three games in the process. The match at No. 3 doubles, featuring senior Junmoke James and sophomore Allyce Gaborik was even at 4-4 when doubles play concluded.

In singles play, the Terriers received a walkover at No. 6 to go up 2-0 and claimed straight-set wins at Nos. 2, 3 and 4. Junior Anushka Dania won five games in the first set against Navya Vadlamudi at No. 5 before falling in straight sets.

Sophomore Hamsa Javagal won the first set against Shelly Yaloz at the top flight but Yaloz came back to win the second and then took a 10-point tiebreak 10-4 to close out the match.

The Mountain Hawks will close out the regular season with two matches next weekend. Lehigh will host Army West Point in Patriot League action on Saturday and then will host Binghamton on Sunday. First serves both days are set for noon.
