BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's basketball team will host Bucknell on Monday at 6 p.m. in the Patriot League quarterfinals. The Mountain Hawks earned the No. 3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament after defeating Army on March 1. The Bison are the sixth-seed in the tournament.Â
Lehigh is 16-13 (12-6 PL), and Bucknell is 13-16 (9-9). Lehigh and Bucknell are no stranger to each other. This game will mark the 11th meeting between the two teams in the last three seasons. Lehigh has played the Bison more than any other team the last few seasons.Â
In 2021, Lehigh defeated Bucknell in the Patriot League semifinals at Sojka Pavilion. The Mountain Hawks were the No.4 seed and went on to win the Patriot League championship. Last season, Lehigh was the fifth-seed and traveled to Lewisburg once again, but just couldn't quite get it done in a 56-53 setback.
Lehigh and Bucknell met twice earlier this season. The Mountain Hawks captured the series sweep on Feb. 22, and it marked the first series sweep over Bucknell since 2011.
The Mountain Hawks are 46-51 all-time against the Bison. They are 25-22 at Stabler and 19-27 in Lewisburg.Â
Lehigh has won five out of its last six games. The Mountain Hawks were on a four-game winning streak before falling to Boston University on Feb. 25. The Mountain Hawks were able to bounce back to capture the series sweep against Army. Four Mountain Hawks finished in double figures, with Mackenzie Kramer leading the way with 16 points. Anna Harvey had a career-high performance, tallying 15 points.Â
Prior to the game on Monday, senior Frannie Hottinger will be recognized by the league. The Minnesota native was named the Patriot League Player of the Year on March 3. She is Lehigh's first recipient since 2011. Mackenzie Kramer earned first-team All-Patriot League honors, and Lily Fandre was named to the All-Rookie team as well.
Hottinger currently leads the league in scoring, averaging 20.4 points per game. Kramer is next with 17.3 points per game.Â
The Bison defeated American 69-66 in their most recent game.
Cecelia Collins and Emma Shaffer are the only two Bucknell players that average double-figures. Collins puts up an average of 13.8 points per game, and Emma Shaffer puts up 10.5 points per game. Both of them earned second-team All-Patriot League honors.
Tickets to Monday night's game can be purchased at LehighTickets.com or by visiting the Stabler Arena box office prior to tip off.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with audio coverage on Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
