
Lehigh Heading South to Face Eastern Illinois, Quinnipiac Over Spring Break

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team is headed to Florida for spring break. The Mountain Hawks will be playing at the USTA National Campus in Orlando and will face Eastern Illinois Monday at 6 p.m. and Quinnipiac Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

The Mountain Hawks head to Florida with a 2-4 record. Lehigh dropped its most recent match to Siena, 4-2 on Feb. 25 and had its scheduled Patriot League opener at Holy Cross canceled last weekend due to weather.

Sophomore Hamsa Javagal and junior Anushka Dania lead Lehigh with 4-2 singles records. Javagal has played exclusively at the top flight. Dania is 4-1 at No. 5 singles and dropped her only appearance at No. 4.

Junior Megha Dania, sophomore Allyce Gaborik and first-year Helena Cilella all own three singles victories.

Javagal and first-year Bella Peters are 3-2 together in doubles action, going 1-0 at the No. 2 flight and 2-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Eastern Illinois is 7-7 after defeating IUPUI 6-1 on March 5. Quinnipiac is 5-6 on the season after falling 6-1 to Buffalo on Sunday.

Lehigh has never faced Eastern Illinois in women's tennis. The Mountain Hawks defeated Quinnipiac 5-2 on March 10, 2015.

Following its Florida trip, Lehigh will return home to open Patriot League play against Loyola, Saturday March 18 at 10 a.m.
