
Mountain Hawks Headed to Orlando to Face IUPUI, James Madison

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After playing its first 10 matches inside the Lewis Tennis Center, the Lehigh men's tennis team is headed to Florida for two matches over spring break. The Mountain Hawks will be in Orlando where they will face IUPUI on Sunday and James Madison on Monday.
Lehigh is 5-5 on the season and is coming off a 5-2 victory over LIU on Feb. 26 in its last action. The Mountain Hawks swept the doubles point and won four singles matches to claim the victory. Senior Matt Kleiman clinched the win with a victory at No. 1 singles. Senior Jeremy Learner went 2-0 in both doubles and singles action against Siena and LIU two weekends ago and was named Patriot League Player of the Week on Feb. 28.
Sophomore Marc Blekhman leads Lehigh with eight singles victories. He is 3-0 at the No. 3 flight and 5-2 at the No. 4 flight. Learner and junior Jordan Paul have teamed to go 5-2 in doubles action. Paul owns the best overall doubles record at 7-3.
IUPUI is 4-11 on the season and is coming off back-to-back wins over UIC and Holy Cross (Ind.) on March 3. Sunday's 3 p.m. match will mark the first meeting between the two schools in men's tennis.
James Madison is 6-4 on the season. The Dukes defeated UNCG 6-1 on Wednesday and also own a victory earlier this season over Patriot League member Navy. JMU has won the two previous meetings against Lehigh, 5-4 in 1986 and 5-2 in 2020.
Following its Florida trip, Lehigh will return home to open Patriot League play against Loyola, Saturday March 18 at 2 p.m.
