Mountain Hawks Fall to Boston University In Last League Match of the Season

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Lehigh women's tennis team was defeated by Boston University in its last league match of the regular season. The Mountain Hawks fell to the Terriers 7-0 in West Point, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon. 

Lehigh got off to a slow start, losing two doubles matches early on. The Mountain Hawks were down 1-0 going into singles play and tried their hardest to fight their way back. 

First-year Hamsa Javagal battled at the No. 1 spot against Boston University's Victoria Carlsten before falling 6-4, 6-0. Lehigh's Junmoke James was defeated by Kaitlin Tan from Boston University 6-2, 6-1 in the second flight. The junior was searching for a team-high seventh singles win of the season on Saturday. 

Sophomores Anushka and Megha Dania fought hard during singles but were unable to come out on top. Anushka was defeated by Shelly Yalos 6-2, 6-0 in the fourth flight while Megha fell to Erica Di Battista 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot. 

The Mountain Hawks will return to Bethlehem for their final match of the regular season on Wednesday. Lehigh will take on Hofstra at 4 p.m. at the Ulrich Varsity Courts.
