Lehigh Falls to Hofstra In Final Match of the Regular Season

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's tennis team fell to Hofstra, 4-3 in its final match of the regular season on Wednesday.

Lehigh fell behind early, losing the doubles point to trail 1-0 going into singles.

The Mountain Hawks battled with Hofstra during singles play but were unable to come out on top. Lehigh lost the first three singles matches before sophomore Anushka Dania picked up the first team win of the day. Anushka defeated Deniz Soyer from Hofstra 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot.

Lehigh continued to fight its way back during singles play with junior Junmoke James picking up a win at the No. 1 spot. James defeated Hofstra's Kat Kachkarov 6-0, 6-1.

Sophomore Megha Dania finished off the match for the Mountain Hawks, picking up a win in the second flight against Hofstra's Kayla Solagnier. Megha defeated Solagnier 7-5, 6-1.

Lehigh will have a week-long break before competing in the Patriot League Tournament. The Mountain Hawks will host the tournament at Ulrich Varsity Courts this year, with the quarterfinals beginning on Thursday, April 21.
