Lehigh Women's Swimming and Diving picks up ninth straight win over Loyola

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team couldn't have asked for a better start to the 2022-23 season, earning a ninth straight victory over Loyola with a score of 179-120, Saturday at Jacobs Pool.
This is the third straight year the Mountain Hawks got off to a 1-0 start. The Greyhounds fell to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in their conference schedule.
It was the freshman and seniors who led the way for Lehigh.
Seniors Sarah Hardy, Danielle Prekop and Hallie Wilson had impressive performances on Senior Day.
Wilson won the 100-yard backstroke (59.19), was a part of the 200-yard medley relay that came in second and too third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.56).
Hardy won both of her individual events, which were the 200-yard IM (2:07.10) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.83). She was also on the 200-yard medley relay that finished in second place.
Prekop was also on the second place 200-yard medley relay, and she won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.66), got third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:27.11) and fourth in the 200-yard IM.
Sophomore Sarah Gill picked up right where she left off last year, taking home the victory in the one-meter (243.30) and the three-meter dive (249.15).
Freshman Dagny Donaldson was very impressive in her first-ever collegiate meet. Donaldson was on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team, and she won the 1000-yard freestyle by five seconds.
Mairin Ludwig was another freshman who had a major impact, winning the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.71), coming in third in the 200-yard IM (2:11.11, finishing in first in the 200-yard freestyle relay and capping that off with a second-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.31.
Freshman Caitlin Deitch had an impeccable performance winning the 100-yard butterfly (58.32), the 100-yard freestyle (52.76), coming in first in the 200-yard freestyle relay and finishing off the day with a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (24.55).
The Mountain Hawks will look to ride this momentum when they take on Bloomsburg and West Chester on Oct. 15 at West Chester.
