LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team came up short in search of its second win of the season, falling 192.5-95.5 to Rider Saturday afternoon.
The Mountain Hawks are now 1-3, and the Broncs are 1-1.
Junior Alex Patti led the way for Lehigh against Rider, finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.04. Sophomore Tim Norris was just behind Patti, coming in second (47.46)
Patti also finished in second in the 200-yard freestyle, and he was on the winning 400-yard freestyle relay along with Norris, Aiden McCurley and Jack Devilbiss.
First-year Aaron Williams tied for first in the 50-yard freestyle with Rider's Billy Rudy (21.15). Devilbiss was right behind Williams, swimming a time of 21.39.
Williams also came in second in the 100-yard butterfly (50.92)
Casey Keagan and Sean Davis were a 2-3 punch in the 500-yard freestyle, scoring a total of seven points in that event for Lehigh.
"Both men and women swam incredibly well," said head coach Rob Herb. "We are still building towards a November to remember, and Lafayette hopefully will stand the test of time. I'm very proud of this team and all the work they put into it up to now."
The Mountain Hawks will have a bit of a break before facing off against Lafayette on Nov. 18, where they will look to capture a victory over the Leopards for the 31st consecutive year.
